Good Afternoon, I Have Had Issues With My Throat Recently

Good afternoon,
I have had issues with my throat recently including frequent clearing of my throat and feeling of something underneath or behind my Adam's apple. I am planning to see a Doctor soon (I very infrequently see PCP) but was just curious if maybe it is a cold/cough or if I should be concerned that it is something more serious? I am a 28 year old male in good physical shape. Any help would be much appreciated!
