Good afternoon. Okay, so 2 Fridays ago (10/30/2015) I went to the Dr and found out I had Trichomonas. They gave me 4 500mg pills (metronidazole) so I took a total of 2000mg at one time. I am in a very long relationship at the moment. One of my symptoms was really painful intercourse. Me & my partner both took our 4 pills. The Dr told me we could continue intercourse after 3 days, but we waited the whole week like I had read online. So on 11/06/2015 we had intercourse and it was still painful. It wasn't as painful as it was before we took the medicine. I have not tried it since then, so its been about a week since we tried. Yesterday I started noticing I was getting symptoms of Trich again, but I wasn't itching like I was before when I had it. I don't itch at all. It just feels like a UTI possibly. I guess my question is, could I have gotten trich again that fast? When we did have intercourse after we were on the medicine, we used protection. Is it possible to get an UTI from Trich? What should I take to help me feel better? I don't have my gyno appointment until 12/02/2015 because theres nothing open sooner, and i don't know if i can wait that long if its not a UTI. I guess my question is, is it normal to still have painful intercourse a week or so after being treated for Trich and how long will it take for me to feel normal again during intercourse?
