Good evening. I have been having significant GI issues for sometime. My GI suspects ulcerative colitis (proctitis) and scheduled a sigmoidoscopy. She gave me her initial findings but will not discuss further until biopsies come back. The findings state "Congested mucosa in the distal sigmoid colon (15 to 25 cm)." This area was biopsied. Is there still a possibility it is ulcerative colitis? Or could it be something else?
