Good evening!
My Dad is ninety. He has COPD, Dementia, HBP, and recently diagnosed w/ Parkinson's. All of these are controlled w/ his medication. Two years ago, the doctor gave him a prescription for Haloperidol 0.5mg, one tablet twice a day, should he needed it. We had given it to him maybe twice. Recently, his behavior, stubbornness and antics, has been terrible. He is aware of his behavior because he either winks at us or verbally states "watch me" before he begins his antics. We are going to start him on 1/2 a tablet in the mornings. My Dad otherwise is strong, and typically in a good mood.
What other Rx should we consider giving him that have less side effects? Typically, these episodes last from 15 minutes to an hour.
Thank you,
Cheryl
