Good Evening, My Brother Just Had A Ct Scan Showing

Good evening, My brother just had a ct scan showing a "dusky " liver. His alk phos was elevated prompting the scan. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year. Adeno and small cell. He had a radical prostatectomy chemo and radiation. My question- Since he is having a liver biopsy tomorrow to focus on what type of cancer/chemo he needs why am I feeling puzzled that previous tx didn't help?
