Good Morning, I Am 30 Years Old And Have Been

Good morning, I am 30 years old and have been experiencing testicular torsion of my left testis since the age of 16. It doesn't happen very often anymore, but I've learnt how to untwist my testis when it happens. however, it is very annoying when it does happen. and I'm now leading to just getting surgery done to fix it for good. but I'm hesitant due to the fact that it is a surgery, and id like to know what are some major complications or risks, as well as the recovery time? and do you think surgery is a good option for me or should i leave it-- given the fact I've been dealing with it for 16 years now...?
