Got My Nipple Pierced Last Thursday, It Has Been Normal

Got my nipple pierced last thursday, it has been normal and does not appear to be infected. I have followed the cleaning directions. Now today (tuesday), I am experiencing flu like symptoms. Body aches, chills, etc. My piercing still looks normal. Are these related or just a coincidence?
