HI I Am 20 Weeks Pregnant And Underwent Anomoly Scan

I am 20 weeks pregnant and underwent anomoly scan on 24 Dec. Two obeservations as follows;
Placenta is low lying anterior Grade 1
Internal oS appear closed with Cervical length of 39mm.
I have frequent pain in my lower abdomen to which my gynaec has suggested me to undergo some cervical stitch? How genuine is that? We are not financially strong to undergo surgeries and take bed rest leaving current job. Please advise.
