HI, I Was Recently In The Back Country And Had

HI, I was recently in the back country and had to drink unfiltered water where there was cow poop and stool. The Dr prescribed doxycline 100 mg twice a day, but everything I am reading says doxy is not a good a choice. Can you tell me if this is a good approach to clearing a parasite. I have not had any lab work done.
