HI Last Winter, Our Pipes Froze In The House And

HI Last winter, our pipes froze in the house and my husband used a kerosene heater to warm them up. Recently he had a cold that lasted almost 2 months and the cough is lingering. He says he feels like the sides of his tonsils are covered in molasses and that's what makes him cough. Could this be from breathing in the kerosene fumes last year?
