HI. My Nephew (turning 2 This Month) Consumed An Undisclosed

HI. My nephew (turning 2 this month) consumed an undisclosed amount of sleeping pills yesterday. He was rushed to ER. They didn't pump his stomach. They put him on a drip with some medication to counter the effects of the pills. He was observed for about 5 hours, and was then sent home with instruction to come back if his condition worsened. This morning, his condition hasn't worsened, but it hasn't improved either. His parents have taken him through to his paediatrician this morning, and I'm waiting for news.

What is his Outlook? The doctors don't seem very clear on a direct answer, and it's worrying.
