Had A Fasting Blood Test, Doctor Said It Was 6.8.

Had a fasting blood test, doctor said it was 6.8. Then she gave me another blood test not fasting and it was 6.7. Now she want to put me on medication. Wouldn't the second number be better because of not fasting and lower number? Should I wait before starting medication.
