Have pain in my tongue and burning. Been treated by an ENT for the past 6 months. Have had 2 test in the hospital one time for leasins and another time a fungal infection was found. Have taken several antibiotics, each time problem seems fine but after s few days all problems return. Just today finished another antibiotic, (Diflucan) problems still there. Took 100 MG 1 tablet for 14 days. Took Diflucan with 2 refills. This drug is used to prevent and treat a variety of fungal and yeast infections? It belongs to a class of drugs called azole anti fungals. Prior to that we tried Mycelex waffers 10 MG, taking 5 per day for 14 days. I do know that the test and biopsy I had done I don't have cancer or aids. I am a young 72 year old, but do take alot of meds and the Dr. said this could be the reason for this tongue problem. One thing for sure it is like going to sleep with a tooth-ache every night.
