Healthy Male, Age 63, With Sudden, Extremely Severe Pain To

Healthy Male, age 63, with sudden, extremely severe pain to the back of the head above the neck, lasting for at least 8 hours today and escalating. History of high blood pressure and high cholesterol, which are both responding well to the daily prescribed dosages of Simvastatin 40 mg (one in the evening) and Lisinopril 5mg tabs, cut in half and taken every other day. Recent Health scan says that all of these med are working well and stats are in the very good range.
A 24/7, high-stress, chair-bound job could have a lot to do with this. But we're just looking for a Second Opinion, because I have NEVER seen my Husband of 24 years in pain like THIS. We live in a very rural area with no services, and are 30 minutes away from the nearest Hospital. Should I be taking him to our nearest hospital right now?
