Hello - I Currently Have A Boil Between My Buttocks

Hello - I currently have a boil between my buttocks that has turned dark red, i have been applying heat compresses on and off trying to get the boil to come to a head. What can i do to speed this process and does the dark red insist pooling of blood from the compress?
