Hello, About 10 Weeks Ago I Hurt My Thumb I

Hello, About 10 weeks ago I hurt my thumb I do not know how but it was probably moving heavy furniture. I have limited movement and it is painful but I cannot lift anything or grip or use my thumb without pain sometimes very painful. The lower joint is swollen. It started to trigger but this has now stopped. I had to wait over 8 weeks to see my Doctor but she says treat it conservatively but I think this was more about the triggering. My hand is almost useless as I cannot use my thumb at all. What should I do?
