Hello, Doctor. I appreciate your help and advice. My mother has pancreatic cancer and has begun chemotherapy. In addition to her cocktail of medications she uses to combat the side effects, she is experiencing horrible gas. Her diarrhea has now been managed with Lomotil but the gas is almost constant. She has taken Gas-X chewables to no avail. Do you suggest we consult the oncologist concerning taking some enzymes such as Lipase or Pancreatin to help with the gas issue? It's horrible and extremely embarrassing for her. What do you think?
