Hello Dr. - My Husband Poked A Q-tip To Far

Hello Dr. - my husband poked a q-tip to far into his ear this morning. Never really hurt, but by this afternoon it began feeling like it needed to "pop" and when he cleaned it agian (yes, I know he shouldn't have) the q-tip was bloody. Still no pain, but does he need to do something?
