Hello Dr. I Was Wondering, I Went To My MD

Hello Dr. I was wondering, I went to my MD because I thought I sprang my foot; walked on it for five days in agony to find out I broke a bone in my foot. One that is attached to my middle toe. He put me in a put and gave me Tylenol with codeine. I am in pain and was wondering how long I to stay off my foot. Why would I not be given crutches.
