Hello Dr. Narasi, Today I Went To The ER For

Hello Dr. Narasi,
Today I went to the ER for painful sciatica along my left side (buttocks to foot) that I had not experienced at that level before. I had also had a gallstone attack over the weekend, and confirmed with an ultra-sound at the ER that I have Cholelithiasis. The attending Dr. advised I consult with a surgeon on gallbladder removal, and prescribed pain killers for both ailments in the meantime. My question is are the two conditions connected? I have read on-line that people experience sciatica pain after gallbladder surgery, so I am concerned that this should make matters worse.
Thank You,
Peter
