Hello Dr. Rynne, I Am Unable To Take Statins Because

Hello Dr. Rynne,

I am unable to take statins because it caused headaches -
just like sugar or artificial sugar does. I recently am trying
to eat and exercise correctly. I asked my doctor if I could
try the Red Rice Yeast pill which I understand is
like a statin. He will first check my blood level to see how
I have been doing on eating/exercising regarding my
cholesterol. He will then start me off with the Red Rice Yeast
and follow up on more blood test to see if my levels
improve. I do realize that sugar is a no-no and hopefully
not in my diet anymore and this includes most boxed foods.
I am working with the Mediterranean eating style and using
the Atkins books for more ways to eat healthy.

Any comments from you would be much appreciated.
