Hello: Dr. Rynne My Name Is Gus, I'm An 86

Hello: Dr. Rynne

My name is Gus, I'm an 86 year old man that has been blessed with very good health ie no cholestral issues, only very slight BP issues ( 117-130/77-83 ) ranges up untill near one year ago, the time of my wifes passing. Since then it has been fluctuating to some to some varieing degreese but nothing like in the past few days ( 174-222 / 93-113. I have talked to my family Doctor about the issue but am getting very little calming answers or help other than increase my Valsartan tablets from 40mg to 80mg with no help then to 160mg and still very little help if any. I am qiute concerned about this sudden uncontrolable increase and my situation doesn't seem to alarm anyone other than me. I don't know at what point BP becomes high risk and is there anything I can take to lessen that risk.
