Hello Dr. Rynne and thank you for your help: My mother who' 79 yo and is being hospitalized in Houston with pneumonia and other complications after fracturing her hip about 2 months ago, has developed a heavy tongue a couple of days ago, and we're concerned that it might be to a clot, particularly, since her INR has been at 1.26, whereas at home it's usually between 2.5 and 3.5, with a daily dose of Warfarin 3 to 5 mg, depending on INR; her hospitalist has switched to Heparin for the last 2 months in the hospital. She also has CHF, Diabetis and Anemia. Thank you much.
