Hello Dr, About 3 Weeks Ago I Suddenly Developed Numbness

Hello Dr, about 3 weeks ago I suddenly developed numbness in the tips of my fingers which became more noticeable in the ring fingers of both hands. I have osteo-arthritis -four herniated discs in my back- and pain radiating down my right calf to the ankle which was mild until I fell on my right side around the time I developed the numb fingers. My right knee swelled at the time and is now numb. My doctor thinks this neuropathy has been caused by my excessive drinking of alcohol but isn't aware of my back issues as these were diagnosed and treated at an independent hospital. Could there be more than one symptom going on here? Please help! Thank you
