Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello... Had a root canal two weeks ago on a bottom front tooth. Dr. thinks both front teeth were probably injured maybe while I was playing ball with my son and was hit in the mouth but don't remember? Anyway, one tooth started having pain to heat so endodontist suggested a root canal. Started having pretty severe pain to touch shortly after and Dr. dismissed it and now two weeks out, the pain is worse than it was prior to treatment. Just spoke with Dr. and she said she won't know without doing a 3D scan on Mon. Trying to avoid all the radiation and costs from all of the scans and x-rays so wanted to try and get another opinion on what is likely going on and wondering if my concern over the scans is valid? She also said most of her colleagues would not even address any pain concerns until at least a month out even though my pain is worse than before treatment. I find that hard to believe but is that true and am I being overly concerned?
One more thing...I did not take the recommended 3 Advil's before and after treatment and she said that could have something to do with my poor healing. Could that be what happened?
