Hello I 2 Questions I Have Been Taking The Birth

Hello I 2 questions I have been taking the birth control pill deblitane since September 5th of 2016 and I have not had a period yet is this normal?And I told my dr I wanted a birth control pill that I can take so I can bf my baby and so I don't gain weight but I feel I am gaining dose a lot of women gain weight from this I do not want take if it's gonna make me gain weight I can't handle the weight gain.
