I am 29 years old and a healthy female. I woke up this morning and noticed on my stool a bright red line of blood. The stool itself was a healthy color and size. I've had a history of hemorrhoids (2 were ligated). I also had a sigmioscopy a few years ago and the doctor found a small patch of diverticula. I know I need to go see my doctor, but until then, do you happen to have an idea as to what causes a perfect bright red blood line on stool? I'm also under lots of stress from work if that has anything to do with inflammation on the intestinal tract.
