Hello, I am a 23 almost 24 year old female, 5'6 weigh about 118LBS. Don't smoke (smoked 6 years ago) a very rare drinker and don't do any drugs. I have been battling SVT for about 4 long years now. I had my first heart ablation the same year I found out I had it because I was very symptomatic with a very high heart rate. The first ablation didn't work (as I am aware some don't always) So just recently almost 3 weeks ago I had my second heart ablation due to becoming very symptomatic that led me into the ER. They said definite SVT again (it usually goes in the high 100's to 200's bpm when this happens) I have had many echos in the past, one recently and all say my heart structurally is normal. Many blood tests taken and the only thing I sometimes come back with is the occasional borderline low magnesium/potassium. (which the hospital always winds up giving me pills for) So I had my second heart ablation after the ER trip and it seems not fully successful either. My electrophysiologist keeps trying to assure me everything I am experiencing won't kill me but I find it hard to believe because I now have health anxiety about it all. So I say the second ablation may of been unsuccessful because then I went into another SVT episode a week or two later after procedure (in the 200's mostly 100's this time) but during this spout of it the ER team thought they saw AFIB on my monitor for a minute. They gave me some adenosine a few times, most of the time seemed to bring it down, the other one time it seemed to almost do nothing because my heart rate was trying to stay up there. (idk how the whole AFIB thing works, just SVT) So he sent me back home after a few days admission watching me on the constant EKG monitor and said my resting pulse was staying good at around 80 bpm. Then I got back home seemed okay for a day or two (mostly slept) then as of yesterday I felt like I was getting irregular beats again..but this time not what seemed to be SVT. I felt short of breath every time they came on and then they would go away and come right back which most of the time seemed positionally, especially upon laying down. I have a constant feeling of a headache although I took some Excedrin last night (has 250 mg aspirin in it) and yesterday morning as well. I have not slept well so maybe that is playing a part in the past day and this morning but I wanted to know if you had any thoughts? My electrophysiologist set me up with his office to get a holter monitor. Will be receiving it within the next few days. I am also taking Metroprolol 250MG once a day everyday and then a new anti arrhythmic drug I just started last night. Wondering if he will need to switch my anti arrhythmic. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to be thorough!
