Hello I Am A 36 Year Old Woman, Who Is

Hello I am a 36 year old woman, who is experience bad pain on my left upper abdomen. It hurts really bad at night and when i rest on the left side. also when i cough it is a horrible shooting pain , when it tightens under my breast bone as if someone is twisting me. and it lingers for about 40 secs. or so. when i yell it hurts and I have # under the age of 8. Also its tender to the touch ? What could be wrong?
