I am a 40yr old female seeking possible second opinions. 2 months ago i began getting extremely heavy post nasal drip- all day every day, swallowing constantly. Saw my ENT I had double ear infections he had to remove pus and give rx drops. no visible reason for heavy drip and the new complaint of feeling like food is getting stuck in my throat after swallowing. He did 2 laryngoscopies in office, everything looked good, he did see actinomyoses (2 spots) on back of one tonsil. I was on amox at time for recurrent UTI he said nothing i can do and prob not related. I returned 2 days later with symptoms persisting with pill/food stuck in upper left throat/near tonsil, maybe behind? I was able to navigate it with my finger to center of throat and down, then it stops. it terrified me. He ordered CT scan of top throat to chest and barium swallow. Both showed normal. I still can't eat without fear and massaging a piece down afterwards. He put me on flonase and olopatadine. Used not regularly though. I cannot burp, I have triggered vomiting to help get food unstuck or release feeling of a brick in my stomach to help whatever it is go down. I regurgtitate easily if i lean over a toilet.
Yes I have reflux, so another dr in his office saw me and and said I should take ranatidine nightly for a few week to see if reflux is the cause.
*I also started adderral generic on June 12, no noticable side effects just slightly dry mouth. 3 weeks after I started it, is when this all began. He said a patient of his had the same thing occur, came off adderall and was better. I saw my Psychiatrist today he agreed to switch me to ritalin. I have not yet picked it up from pharmacy.
Now this evening, with all this still continuing, I feel a hard bump on edge of roof of mouth, quite near the tonsil I've been complaining about. The bump does hurt if i push on it. The tonsil feels somewhat stiff on some folds. It is not painful.
Please note, I am also under an incredible amount of stress now, and some people say it's just stress. Please tell me you know differently.
