Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I am a 51yr old Male. I have almost always had some mild pain in my left groin area. When I was 20 I had an enlarged lymph node removed (benign) and when I was 35 mad a muscle biopsy from my left thigh for MH testing (positive). I started Bike riding again in Sept of 2016. Although I am 51 my brain says I am only 21 and push myself fairly hard. I started developing a little more pain in my left groin and though I just pulled something. Range of motion was never decreased and heavy lifting or standing did not make the pain any worse. After a couple of months of the ache not getting better I went to the family Doctor. She checked me for a hernia. Did not find anything and felt no lumps etc in my groin region when coughing, standing. went for an ultrasound. They did find an umbilical hernia at my belly button and a 4.5cm x 4.5 cm mass in my groin region. This mass is not felt from the outside. Ultrasound said it is not typical of a hernia. Went for a CT scan on Thurs. Awaiting results.....I am freaking out it is cancer...
