Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am a 55 years old overweight female with taking medication to treat Hbp and high cholesterol. I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. I just tried a cpap full mask and found it to be extremely uncomfortable. I have also been told I have a slightly deviated septum with excess cartilage and bone spurs making it difficult to breathe through my nose. My ent has recommended a procedure to remove excess and Spurs this is after allergy testing. I have spent out of pocket $675 on cpap and 750 on allergy testing. I do not want to waste anymore money but I am not confident in the direction my sleep doctor or ent are trying to take me. I just joined weight watchers and a gym (today) as it is now beyond clear that my weight has caused all these health concerns. Am I safe in thinking I should give myself 6 months of focused diet and exercise or should I get more answers/advice/tests?
