Hello, I Am A Newly Diagnosed Diabetic Who Has Started

Hello, I am a newly diagnosed diabetic who has started to take 1000 mg of metformin 2x per day and The muscles in my chest area along with back and "love handles" stay very sore and I have extreme pain when I sneeze of cough. This has been getting progressively worse over the last 8-10 months. I was sick about 3 weeks ago and the doctor prescribed some Prednisone. After the 4th day I started to notice that my muscles were feeling great and after I was tapered off, 3 days later I noticed the soreness coming right back. Does any of this sound familiar?
