Hello I Am Going Through A Divorce And Depession Has

I am going through a divorce and depession has kicked....mainly due to the finances. I am 53 years old (female). Never have taken meds before in my life. Though I can handle it and that it would eventually go again or I though i would cure myself with time, but no luck. I have this prescription from September 2015 from my GP " effexor xr 37.5 I am thinking tonight to maybe start taking it, but scarred at the same time after reading some reviews and the difficulties in regards to stopping this med in the near future.
