Hello, I Am Male And 69 Years Of Age. Following

Hello,
I am male and 69 years of age. Following some recent severe stomach pain an abdominal ultrasound was performed. The ultrasound and clinical examination did not reveal that the pain, (which has now disappeared), was in anyway attributable to a current gallbladder issue. However, it did reveal that I have gallstones. "The gallbladder is thin walled and non- tender to probe pressure. It contained several calculi with the largest 16mm and the calculi were mobile. Common bile duct was not delated and no intraheptic duct distillation. The pancreas ,spleen and aorta were normal"

An abdominal ultrasound report 13 years ago stated " a small mobile calculus measuring about 4mm in diameter".
In summary, I can see that I have a gallbladder stone issue. But should I have surgery now or wait for symptoms to show up? Can I just have the stones removed or will I need the gallbladder removed? Would really appreciate your advice.

Regards and thanks,
paul, (Melbourne Australia)
