Hello I Got Implanon Birth Control About A Year And

Hello I got implanon birth control about a year and a half ago i never had my pierod maybe a couple spots here and there but that was it... This week I was in the car with my mom and I had horrible cramps and I relized I was on my pierod its been allot heavier and way longer than they used to be , what could have caused this?
