Hello,
I had hypoglycemia attack 60 days ago. I had diabetes type 1 around 15 years, I am 36 years old male.
That's my 3rd time I had hypoglycemia and all of them happened in 1 month period. The last one was very heavy. I opened my eyes at hospital. My hypoglycemia was like an epileptic attack, all my body wasa strained. I don't have epilepsy but you know my hypoglycemia atacke strained my body too much and It looks like an epileptic attack. At hospital I took EMG and doctor gave me Keppra 500mg. to use. I started to use 1 a day (half morning/ half evening time) for 1 week and then 1 morning - 1 evening.
I am using Apidra Solostar 3 times a day and Lantus Solostar at evenings for my diabetes.
One and half month passed and I went to hospital one more time for EMG. Result was OK, however the doctor told me to have sleeping EMG to see better results for giving up using Keppra. After long time EMG (sleeping EMG- 1 hour period), she saw somethings and told me to have EMG after 1,5 month later. Now I will have to wait one more month to reach this period. She told me, she can let me to give up Keppra slowly, however to make it as guarantee, she would like to see one more regular EMG (not sleeping EMG) after 1,5 month period. I am still using Keppra.
After my hypoglycemia attack, I still have some backache (even 60 days past), I guess It would be a side effect of Keppra and I cannot get weight. Before hypoglycemia I was 68-69 kg, now I am 63-64 kg. Would it be cos of using Keppra? , cos as side effects ache and kg loss both written.
My diabetes is OK, my hemoglobin a1c is around 6,3 - 6,5.
I would like to give up using Keppra but I wrote all my situation upside.
