Hello, I Have Hashimotos - Was Diagnosed With It About

Hello, I have Hashimotos - was diagnosed with it about 10 years ago. It has been controlled with synthroid for the most part. But, I have had some difficulties healing from persistent infections. Recently, I discovered that my niece has the methfr gene mutation (on both sides of family). She has celiac. All my siblings seem to experience some autoimmune type issues. My father has thyroid, RA and heart disease. Mother died of breast cancer. I am wondering if I should be tested for this MTHFR gene mutation and if it might help in the reversal of some of issues associated with Hashimoto's. How do I get tested? Impacts of insurance coverage at all?
