Hello I Have A Girl Friend Whom Is 47 Yrs

Hello I have a girl friend whom is 47 yrs old. and I'm 60 yrs old. I have been seeing for more than 1 year now! At this point in the relationship we haven't had sex at this time. we fell in Love and we both truely really Love one another. Recently she told me over 12 year prior she had sex with a person who had Herpes. Which she indicates she had emotional stresses behind that. long story short he was a public figure in the community and she proceeded to try to sue him. This man had to resigned from his job and then he filed bankruptcy. Anyway, I had plans to marry this person but with this news it hindering my decision to move forward I understand Genital Herpes once it its in your body there is No Cure. And if I marry her then I will contract the STD too? Correct? Wow what slight dilemma..... Now in cases how does couple cope with this. Thanks you Clarence
