Hello. I Have A Ringer Finger Where Pus Was Squeezed

Hello. I have a ringer finger where pus was squeezed out of the side by the nail. Now it is swollen and after trying to cut the nail away (possibly ingrown) was thinking soaking epsom salts would be helpful prior to next week's dermatology appt. Do you feel epsom salts, an astringent could be beneficial?
