Hello I Have A Soft Tissue Injury Over Shin Bone

I have a soft tissue injury over shin bone just above the ankle joint. This happened during a half marathon I ran 3 weeks ago. I have been taking ibuprofen but the the recovery has been very slow and I am still not able to walk properly due to the recurring pain. What medicine can you prescribe for this. I visited a doctor and was told it is not a bone or muscle injury. There is no swelling in area.
