Hello, I Have An Ear Infection From Swimming. I Went

Hello,
I have an ear infection from swimming. I went to the doctor and she confirmed I have an infection in my middle ear as well as the outer. She prescribed antibiotics and Sofradex drops. I'm finding that after I applied the Sofradex, my ear is feeling more irritable, itchy and painful. Is this an allergic reaction or just how the medication initially starts working?
