Hello, I Have Barrett's Esophagus And GERD And Recently (last

Hello, I have barrett's esophagus and GERD and recently (last 2 weeks) the taste of food has been altered and I have a mild sore throat. My PCP said there are no sinus, upper respiratory, or other infections requiring antibiotics. I also went to a dentist today and ruled out any dental infections. My concern is that I may have developed esophageal cancer. Would that explain the altered taste I am experiencing. Are their other causes? I have not had any change in medications in the last 3 months.
