Hello, I Have Been Shaving My Groin Area For Some

Hello, I have been shaving my groin area for some time now and never had a real problem. A few years ago tho I was diagnosed with herpes. I had this weird lump that wouldnt go away in the top of crease of the pelvic area. It was sore, bruised looking, and itchy at times. I went to my doctor and they said it's normal to have a constant lump under the skin somewhere down there because if the herpes so I let it be. Later on I got tired of it and examined it myself. I opened up the lump and pulled out an ingrown hair expecting it to be the cause of problem. Months later the hole left over has not healed and there seems to be another hole next to it. It still itches in that spot often too. Is there a bigger problem to worry about or will it go away eventually?
