Hello I Have Been Suffering From A Chronic Pain Syndrome

Hello I have been suffering from a Chronic Pain Syndrome since a severe bout of Chronic Pancriatitis that put me in ICU for 1 month 1o years ago. I have have been to over 30 Pain Specialist", been to be assessed at the Mayo Clinic, The Shands Clinic and spent 2 30 day in-house treatments at the the Souyh Beach Pain and Reabilitaive Medicine Clinic in Miami Florida eun By Dr Rosenthal. I have tried Hypnosis, Biofeedback, SSRI's Neurontin and various Opiods and both Extended release and for Break through pain. You reach a point were you don't care what anyone says, you just want the pain to stop. I am currently on 200 mg ER Morphine sulfate and 4mg prn Dilaudid for break thru, Celexa and Clonazapam. I have reached the point were my break thru pai is not working. I am a Director of Clinical
Operations at a CRO and when my med is working, I can function well. I let my wife who is a RN control all the Catagory 2,3,and 4 medications. Has anyone heard of a fast acting medication for severe break thru pain. I am not an abuser, just a Dad and Research Professional trying to get on with my life. My current Doctor is a Board cerified Neurologist, Has a Fellow ship in Pain Management and is also a Psychiatrist who specializes in treating subjects with chronic pain who everyone else has given up on. I tried the Fentynal medication that you let disolve between thr Bucal area and the cheek, but you can only get that for Cancer now. Sometimes it gets somewhat bleack and hopeless. Any idea's from my fellow chronic Painsuffer's who have problems with severe breckthru pain?
