Hello, I Have Been Taking Percocet For About 4 Years

Hello, I have been taking Percocet for about 4 years for severe back and knee pain. I have Polymyalgia rheumatica. Today, I asked the Kaiser pharmacist if I could pick up refill today, Friday, instead of this Mon., my ususal pick up day. I am down to 7 and a half pills. Pharmacist would not give me permission to have an early pick up. May I safely take another narcotic, such as Norco, during the two days when I no longer have any Percocet? I would take a low dose - just to beat back my sick feeling. I have been on the govt. mandated six pills per day of Percocet for two years. It has been a big stuggle to have only six pills per day. Kindly answer my Norco question. Thank you very much.
