Hello I Have Never Had A Cold Sore EVER In

I have never had a cold sore EVER in my life, my family has gotten them (parents, siblings, etc) every couple of years or so. I assume I carry the virus as a child hereditary. (Most people do..)
Anyways, I had someone PECK me (no make out - no saliva) and I talked to the person after my paranoid melt down and freak out and they told me they sometimes got cold sores as a CHILD as most people do, anyways their last cold sore was TEN YEARS ago and then I started freaking out again thinking I'd get one and usually when you're exposed directly to the virus you get a sore 2-20 days after exposure
Well for me it's been a month and I am pretty 100% sure I am safe, no cold sore nothing.
I understand shedding of the sore (in between blistering stages and days before or after cold sore) but this person hasn't had one for ten years.
I have friends and know people who gets cold sores ever so often just like my siblings and haven't passed it on to their partners whether it's by a kiss or orally.
Basically if people get cold sores once they are COMPLETELY HEALED AND GONE (7-10 days) they can live a "normal" life again and kiss, etc. Because if that wasn't the case that's like saying you can never kiss your child or partner, etc.
There is a stigma against cold sores. PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
I understand the virus stays dormant and sleeps inside the person until it's ACTIVE (Shedding - itching - tingling - blisters - open sore - crusting, etc)
So I am looking for reassurance.
Please give me your input.
