Hello, I Have The Copper IUD And Have Had It

Hello, I have the copper IUD and have had it since the beginning of January and never had any problem with it. I was just going to the bathroom and when I was wiping I realized the string was sticking out. I have no pain and I'm on the fourth day of my period. Should I go to a doctor about this or is it just because the cervix sits lower during a period so the strings have out?
