Hello. I just had a partial parotidectomy last Tuesday. By Friday my whole neck was swollen (more so on my left side) and felt like a pill was stuck in it. By Saturday the funny feeling in my throat was gone, but my left side was still very swollen. My ear looks huge compared to my non-surgery side and is hot to touch. It hurts to chew. I went to my GP today and she thought I might have an infection. She called my surgeon but he can't get me in until tomorrow. I have a slight rash around my stitches. Is this normal? If not, what do you think is wrong? Should I go to the ER?
