Hello, I Just Had Surgery On An Inguinal Hernia On

Hello, I just had surgery on an Inguinal hernia on Thursday last week. On Sunday I wanted to have a bowel movement but due to the nerve getting aggravated I could not sit on toilet to do this, way too much pain. I held it in. The next day my anus area was sore, I still couldn't use the toilet due to the extreme pain. I am still sore down there but could go today, finally. Would the soreness of this area be attributed to me holding or something else involved here?
